The u13 squad travelled to the Austin Stacks tournament on 9th/10th Sept in Tralee. They were in a strong group and despite starting slow in the first two matches eventually came out with a tight win over Ballyboden St. Endas and a hard fought draw with NaGaeil of Tralee. That set us up with a table topping match v Legion of Killarney, which we ended up winning by 5 points thanks to some heroic tackling and blocks in the last 5 mins. Every player in the squad featured in those first 3 matches and played an important part. At one point it looked like a shoot out would be required to decide who went through to the Cup semi-final but Ballyboden beat NaGaeil in the final match to ensure we topped the table. A sign of the competition in our group was that the 3 qualifying teams from our group made it to their respective finals. In the semi-final we played NaPiarsaigh of Cork and came out on top at the end of a passion filled match (on and off the pitch) by 1 point. That set us up for a Cup final with Naas on Sun. Our lads fought bravely but on the day couldn't quite match the Kildare lads. All in all a hugely positive weekend with fabulous teamwork, fun and great football. Special thanks to all the parents and family members who made the trip to Tralee - they were the "extra man" we needed at times during the tournament.
We'll done to U16s lads involved in Ted Webb great to see Cathal lift the cup and 6 sk lads involved brill achievement well done to all coaches they had over years
