Cooley Kickhams Club News

Club News
Two fund raisers the Club had running over the past number of weeks came to their conclusion on Saturday night and of course up for grabs were some tidy sums of euros. The €5 holiday draw took place during the Poker Classic and for the lucky winner was a holiday voucher to New York or Las Vegas to the value of €1500 plus $500 spending money. The draw was a huge success for the Club and indeed for the winner Matt Dawson from Crossalaney Road, Carlingford. Congratulations to Matt from all in the Club and may he enjoy the fruits of his win.
At this stage of the night the Poker Classic was moving into it's final stages and produced a few exciting clashes on the card tables before producing the eventual winners. The overall winner of the first prize of €3000 was taken by Pat Fahy who has shown some great form over the last number of satelite games.
The following is the full list of winners:
1st Pat Fahy €3000, 2nd John McCabe €1200, 3rd Brendan Scullion €700, 4th Seamus Hanratty €325, 5th Bridget McCabe €325, 6th Maura Ward €250, 7th Catherine Moran €220, 8th Andrew Murphy €220, 9th Ned Morgan €220, 10th Brendan McGrath €150, 11th Gabriel Morrissey €150, 12th Iris Marmion €150, 13th Dermot McKenna €150, 14th Aggie Kimmons €150, 15th Padraig McCabe €150, 16th Anne Quinn €150 & 17th Hugh Brennan Dundalk F.C. Poker Classic ticket.
A very successful and well run event was enjoyed by over 100 poker players and the Club would like to thank Paddy McCabe & John McDonald for the endless hours of time they put into the event. A big thank you to Amanda & Joanne and all the people in the kitchen who cooked and served a beautiful roast beef dinner and later on in the night served some lovely home cooked goodies and tart supplied by our very own vice-chairperson Ann Callan. Refreshments were available all through the evening in the bar and were ably served by Paddy Lawless. Rumours were circulating on the night of Paddy McCabe's refereeing career coming to an end due to his early retirement plans, however when the new card playing season comes around again he may just change his mind. Congratulations to all the winners and thank you from the Club for your continued support.
