Music program prevents teen addiction A pioneering approach to drug and alcohol education that uses pop music videos was recently launched in the Patrician Presentation Secondary School in Fethard to the Second and Transition Year students.

Clodagh highly commended in the EPA Wetlands photo awards Congratulations to Clodagh Blake whose photo of the ‘Marsh Fritillary Butterfly’ was one of the ‘Highly Commended’ photographs at the EPA Wetlands photo awards in Wexford. The photography competition was organised by Wexford Country Council in partnership with the EPA Irish Ramsar Wetlands committee.
Fethard Junior Youth Club back up and running FUSE - Fethard Junior Youth Club is up and running again on February 20, and each Thursday night from 7pm to 8pm. Aimed at children in 4th, 5th and 6th classes, we provide safe surroundings for your children to socialise, make new friends and participate in activities.
Sonny Condell for Crocanoir, Mullinahone The Crocanoir concert series for 2014 will kick off on Saturday, February 22, with singer songwriter Sonny Condell. Sonny has been an integral part of the Irish music scene since the early 1970s, a musical career spanning 35 years, from his heady days with ‘Tír Na nÓg’ which landed him on the biggest stages in the world, to the truly fantastic ‘Scullion’.

Carol Singing this Thursday night 17th December The annual ‘Carol Singing’ on the streets of Fethard will take place on this Thursday 17th December, commencing at Fethard Town Hall at 7.45pm. All are welcome.
Proceeds will be donated to the Central Remedial Clinic in Dublin to supplement their annual 'Santa Bear Appeal'. This is a very worthwhile cause and the CRC’s ongoing support and help for affected children and families is invaluable.
Extra Christmas prizes for Fethard & Killusty Community Lotto Extra draws for Christmas turkeys and hams will take place on 2nd, 9th and 16th December. We will have draws for three turkeys and three hams each week. We then take a two-week break so there will be no lotto draw on 23rd and 30th December.
Fethard Youth Centre Youths from Fethard and district aged 14 to 16 are invited to come along and register for membership on Saturday next 21st February at Fethard Youth Café between 2pm and 4pm. Intending members are asked to bring along a €5 registration fee and proof of age. Membership forms are available from the Community Office in Barrack Street, Newport’s Newsagency, Patrician Presentation Secondary School (after midterm break) and can also be downloaded from the Fethard website.
