Sean Moran gave Clonmore the perfect start scoring the opening goal within seconds of the throw-in and we went on to dominate the game from start to finish. In fairness to Myshall they fought all the way and produced some good passages of play themselves.

July 9 2018: Minor Championship: Clonmore 1-12 Fenagh 1-10.

A very competitive match between two good sides started with  high intensity football, both sides squandering chances early on.

Eventually they got their sights in range and the half finished 6pts to 4 in favour of the away side Clonmore. Scores from Dylan Doyle 3 Billy Lawlor 2 Rory Maguire 1.

The second half got even better for Clonmore when they raced into a substantial lead with scores from Oisin Doyle 2pts Dylan Doyle 1pt and a goal from Eoin Connolly, followed by a point from Sean Moran.

The home side responded with a goal and 6pts to level the match but late points from Billy Lawlor and Keith Bowes sealed a deserved victory for Clonmore. 1-12 to 1-10.

July 3 2018: SFL 5: Junior Semi final replay: MLR 3-10 Clonmore 2-6

The Juniors were faced with a tough task last night with only 16 players to pick from and a number of them carrying injuries. 

Things got even worse when the team was reduced to 14 men on 24 minutes after Con Cashen was sent off after receiving a harsh second yellow card. The half-time score stood at 2-5 to 0-3 and things looked very bleak when MLR scored 1-2 within 5 minutes of the re-start to make the score 3-7 to 0-3.  But the Clonmore lads refused to lie down and battled all the way to the end, outscoring Rangers by 2-3 to 0-3 in the last 25 minutes. 

The spirit shown by Clonmore in the face of adversity was remarkable and special mention must go to Jason Fitzharris who travelled from his holidays in Cobh for the game and then went on to have a great game in goal, producing a string of brilliant saves in the second half. Jason was well supported by Sean Deay, Sean Tompkins, Matt Cullen, Martin Byrne, Alan Humphries, Niall Humphries and Owen Coleman who cooly slotted home two penalties in the second half.

June 26 2018: Junior ‘C’ Championship: Clonmore 3-14 Palatine 2-7

Our Juniors put in a good performance in Palatine played in balmy conditions. Clonmore were 2 goals up inside the first 6 minutes courtesy of John McGrath and Niall Humphries. Some excellent points by Owen, Niall & Pauric and 3 excellent saves by Jason had us 

2-06 to 1-05 at the break. 

The 2nd half belonged to Clonmore who gradually wore down the opposition. A great all round performance on the night.

Great to see Philip Cullen and Martin Byrne come on and looked like they never lost it.

23 June: SFL Div 5 Semi-Final: Clonmore 2-10 MLR 3-7

This Division 5 semi-final in Fenagh TC on Friday evening was an entertaining and competitive game between two well matched teams and 67 minutes of football could not separate them. Played in balmy conditions, there was excitement from start to finish with numerous twists and turns along the way.

MLR started strongly but squandered a few chances and had to watch as Clonmore scored in their first attack with wily veteran John McGrath striking a beauty off the outside of his right foot from a tricky angle. Further Clonmore points followed from Alan Humphries and Owen Coleman before Ranger's got off the mark with a free from Derek Byrne. The ever reliable Gavin Byrne (2 frees) and Clive Lambe scored points for Clonmore before Byrne scored again for Rangers to leave the half-time score 0-6 to 0-2. A feature of the first half was Clonmore's dogged defending as they tackled and blocked with great  intensity.

True to their battling tradition, Rangers came out all guns blazing in the second half and, within two minutes of the re-start, had levelled the scores  with a great goal from Rory Joyce and another point from the accurate Derek Byrne. Clonmore responded immediately with a wonder point from Sean Deay who soloed the length of the field and scored from distance with his left foot.  Anything Deay could do, Owen Coleman could do better and, cutting in from the right, he unleashed a rocket to the far corner of the MLR net - 1-7 to 1-3 on 36 minutes.

By 41 minutes, Clonmore had extended their lead to 8 points (2-8 to 1-3) with another point from Gavin Byrne and a goal from Alan Humphries after he intercepted a Rangers kick-out. Still MLR would not lie down and they launched attack after attack. They got a bit of luck on 50 minutes when Derek Byrne's attempt to fist a point hit the crossbar and the rebound was smashed to the net by an inrushing forward - 2-9 to 2-6. With the hard ground taking it's toll on players, there was a number of injury stoppages and Clonmore lost the influential Sean Deay on 50 minutes.

In a last throw of the dice, Rangers pushed Rory Joyce into the full forward line and it paid immediate dividends as Joyce used his powerful left foot to score 1-1 in the space of five minutes to put MLR a point ahead with normal time just up - 3-7 to 2-9. 

It would have been an injustice for Clonmore to lose and they drove forward again in search of an equaliser. Fittingly, it was one of their talented youngsters, Sean Tompkins, who went on a run from corner back and cooly slotted over the equaliser. After seven minutes of injury time, Referee Martin Murphy blew up for the end of a rip-roaring contest and there was relief all round that there was no extra time as the heat and hard ground had really taken it out of the players.

Clonmore GFC would like to wish Ger 'Heidi' Doyle a speedy recovery from a painful rib injury received early in the game.

May 25 2018 SFL Div 2: Clonmore 0-8 Eire Og 1-11Clonmore squandered enough chances to have won this game comfortably. The game played in balmy conditions in Woodside was nip and tuck throughout - at half-time the home team led by 0-5 to 0-4 but by 45 mins the YIs had moved 0-9 to 0-7 ahead.  On 53 minutes Eire Og scored the clinching goal after Jordan Kane made a great save from an Eric McCormack rasper only for Eire Og full-forward, Mark Corcoran, to score from the re-bound. May 18 2018  SFL Div 2: Fighting Cocks 1-11 Clonmore 4-12

An excellent first half saw the Intermediates lead by 2-8 to 0-2 at half time and we closed the game out comfortably in the second half.

With O’Hanrahans beating Eire Og 2-12 to 0-17, we still have an outside chance of making the semi finals if we beat Eire Og in our last game next Saturday at 6pm in Woodside

15 May 2018: SFL Div 5: MLR 4-9 Clonmore 1-6

Fifteen Clonmore Juniors made the long journey to Borris to fulfill this fixture, but they did much more than fulfill the fixture. John Connolly came out of retirement to have a stormer at corner back and Tommy Kelly donned his boots again at the ripe young age of 62. Clonmore took the game to Rangers from the start and raced into a 1-3 to 0-1 lead on 15 minutes, all scored by the lively Niall Humphries. MLR raised their game in the second quarter to go in leading by 2-4 to 1-4, Clonmore's 4th point was a cracker by Michael "Chang" McGrath. We were well in the game up to 52mins when score stood at 2-6 to 1-6 but the younger legs of the home side and the fact that they sent in four subs saw them pull away at the end

18 May 2018: SFL Div 2: Clonmore 4-12 Fighting Cocks 1-11

An excellent first half performance saw Clonmore lead by 2-8 to 0-2 at half time, their goals coming from David Mulvany and Alan Humphries and Con Murphy in good point scoring form. The men from the Wicklow border closed out the game comfortably in the second half with further goals from Mulvany again and substitute Luke Mullen. For the Fighting Cocks, Colm Quigley was outstanding, scoring 1-9 of their total.

27 March: SFL Div 5: Clonmore 3-19 Leighlinbridge 0-4

Clonmore's youthful Junior team, including six players from last year's Minor B Championship winning team, recorded a convincing win over Leighlinbridge in their first Division 5 game of the year in Woodside. 

Clonmore raced into a 1-12 to 0-0 lead at half time. The goal came from the ever alert JP Doyle and the highlight of the half was a brilliant run and point by centre back Sean Deay. The same pattern continued in the second half with Sean Foley and Cormac Malee adding further Clonmore goals. 

For Clonmore it was a great team effort with all 21 players contributing to the win. For Leighlinbridge, Craig Lawlor, Eddie Dermody, Aidan Lillis and the evergreen Mick Nevin played well.

Clonmore GFC would like to wish Leighlin player and KCLR commentator, Kevin Regan, a speedy recovery from a serious ankle injury received during the game.

Minor (U17) result from last night: Last gasp point won it for the men in red & green. Great for the club to make a winning start to the new season. Well done lads.

A long range free by Dylan Doyle well into injury time gave Clonmore a hard earned win in their first League match of the year in Tullow
