Junior football

Our junior footballers played Ardfinnan in the South Junior A semi final last Saturday afternoon in Monroe. After being beaten at the semi final stage the previous 2 years our lads were hoping to go a step further this year. We were slow to get going in the first half but a goal from Robbie Meagher helped put us in the lead at half-time. In the second half we played much better and out played our opponents. Our second goal came from Paul Horan from the penalty spot and put us in control and we held out for a 2-11 to 1-6 win. We will now be playing either Ballingarry or Newcastle in our first appearance in the final since 2008 and will be hoping to win the South title we last won in 2005. The team on the night was : Richie Needham, Kieran Clancy, Colm Dunne, Neil Gleeson, Conor Barry, Cathal Mahoney, Paddy Moroney, Darren Meagher, Paul Horan, Conor Clancy, Robbie Meagher, Shane Gorey, John Moroney, Tony O Brien, Nicky Kearney Subs : Mark Slattery, Darren Boland, Aaron Cronin, Robbie McCormack, Ciarán Mockler, Brendan Gleeson, Conor Gorey, Conor Cuddihy.

All Ireland Final

Following Tipperary’s comprehensive victory over Cork on Sunday last there will be a big demand for All Ireland Final tickets. We advise all supporters to procure tickets from any source possible as St. Patricks GAA Club don’t expect to be able to satisfy all the demands from within the parish. First preference will of course go to club members.
