KERRY 1986 All Ireland B Hurling C/ship Team
The Crotta hurling club was well represented on County Hurling Final Day when the last Kerry senior team to win an All Ireland 'B' (
today
equivalent would be The Christy Ring Cup) were honoured at half time
It was the third time had won the All Ireland previously having won it in 1976 and 1983. Kerry played Down in the first round and after a struggle in Tralee won by 1-11 to 2-05. Derry in Tralee were Kerry's next opponents and this was a much more comfortable win on a scoreline of Kerry 2-22 Derry 0-04. In the home semi-final Kerry met Roscommon in Portlaoise where again Kerry were emphatic winners on a scoreline of Kerry 2-23 Roscommon 0-08. Carlow were Kerry's opponents in the home final in Thurles and a crucial Todd Nolan goal sealed a Kerry win after a cracker of a game. Final score Kerry 2-14 Carlow 1-16. The team then travelled to London to play London in the Final proper. It was a very tough match but Kerry eventually pulled away near the end to win the All Ireland on the score of Kerry 3-10 London 1-09.
Crotta were represented on the team by the following players:

The Kilflynn National School football team played their third match in the Cumann na mBunscoil league
last Thursday
in Mountcoal. Playing the best football that the school has played in the past few years they won on a score line of Kilflynn NS 6-10 Kilmoyley 2-02. O’Donoghue then fisted a long kick by Barry Mahony to the Kilmoyley net. Darragh O’Donoghue added a fourth shortly after to take his tally to four following a neat finish. Daniel O’Rourke then added a fifth goal and the same player pointed from a difficult angle. HT Kilflynn 5-06 Kilmoyley 0-00. The second half was more evenly contested and Kilmoyley scored 2-02.
