Football
Senior:
The senior footballers had a great albeit nervy win over neighbours St. Michaels last Sunday in the Stadium. The lads were the stronger side throughout the first half but missed 2 or 3 good goal opportunities including a penalty to help increase the gap. After the break Michaels came out all guns blazing and converted their own penalty leading to a nervy final 15 minutes. But all credit to the SKGAA lads. They matched Michaels point for point for the last quarter of the game and came away 2 point winners on a scoreline of 0-17 to 1-12. Next up is Corofin in the preliminary quarter final in a repeat of last year's county final in Tuam Stadium at 3.45pm on Saturday. It's knockout football and with Corofin on their quest for 5 in a row, SKGAA need big support on the day so please make the effort to go along and support the lads.
Minor
The minors took another step towards the West Board Final with a comprehensive win over Oughterard in the Prairie last Wednesday. There was very little between the teams in a scrappy first half in the rain. But in the second half SKGAA showed the real firepower they posses firing home six goals to see off Oughterard. Calym Crowe, Aidan Halloran and Evan Murphy doing much of the damage. Next up is Moycullen in the last group game with a West Board Final please secured if they win.

Mixed fortunes this week for U12A team. They recorded a brilliant 2-10 to 2-07 win against a strong Oranmore team on Sunday. All except 1 point was from play and it was pleasing to see scores of this caliber. The team came out second best to Moycullen on Tuesday and now depend on other results to see how play offs will be determined.
The U12's play the 13B league final against Naomh Anna Leitir Mor on Friday evening in Rossaveal. They have done really well in the league stages, winning 5 of their 6 games at a higher age group and look forward to this league final eagerly.
U11s played in Gp 4 of the U12 league.
On Sunday we were well beaten at home by a strong Oranmore team. The boys played some nice football at times but weren't really up to the task, losing by 6-12 to 1-8.
Tue they played away to Moycullen. We played much better tonight than on Sunday with good urgency in the play to outscore their opponents 6-7 to 1-7. Some very strong individual performances, but played well as a team. The boys have won 3 out of 5 games in the group so should be in one of the play-offs places depending on other results.
Our second U12b team played St James 12A on Monday and while the team lost they showed good character and vastly improving match ability. We are approaching this league with squad development in mind and from that perspective, while results are not going in our favour at the moment, it is proving extremely beneficial.
U13 busy preparing for Austin Stacks tournament on 9th sept best luck to Conor Fergus and all lads and supporters heading down don't wear too many Mayo jerseys

County.
Last Saturday saw the high light of County Juvenile hurling, with the Galway U14 , U15's and U16's all playing. And SKGAA was well represented at all levels.
In the Tony Forristal Tournament Daniel O Flaherty travelled to Waterford and played with the Galway A team . Unfortunately they met a good Tipperary team in the Final and lost by 4 points.
In the U15 Tournament Diarmuid Munroe lined out for the Galway boys in Clare . And again they had a great day only to be beaten by Cork in extra time.
The Arrabawn Co-Op U16 Tournament took place in Tipperary. We had two players on Galway A team Cathal Sweeney and Donal O'Shea. They had a big win against Cork and a 2 points win over Waterford in a tense game . But they came up short against the might Tipperary in the Semi-final .
Well done to the four boys and hopefully we see some more stepping up to the plate next year. And well done also to the Coaches for all their hard work to get the boys ready.
