Still awaiting details of a date for a 13B final.

The u13 footballers played An Spidéal away on Tues evening in the u14b championship. Our lads put in a huge effort throughout the match and yet again we couldn't have been more proud of their courage and never give up attitude. We hit the crossbar twice in the first half which would have changed the complexion for the second half. An Spidéal were very strong though and won well in the end, but these matches will stand to our lads as they prepare for the knock out stages of the u13 competition and the quarter final of the u14b. Thanks to the parents who provided lifts and gave enthusiastic support to the lads.

U15A final v St Michaels has been fixed for the Praire at 7pm on Tuesday 29th

U16s back training awaiting confirmation of championship quarter final dates and opposition

Best luck to all involved (10 from SKGAA at various ages) in development squads and Ted Webb team over next few weeks

Adult Hurling

Minor Hurling:

Minor Hurlers have are County Champions!

SK Hurlers defeated neighbouring rivals, Rahoon/Newcastle on Sunday afternoon as the rain poured down in Pearse Stadium.

The teams exchanged points early on but the opposition were first to raise a green flag. Moments later SK rattled the net. SK led by 2 points at half time, 1-8 to 1-6. A different SK came out in the second half and really opened up and performed to full potential. They won the half by 3-8 to 1-2. The Final Score was 4-16 to 2-8. An excellent victory overall and the young men did the club proud! Well done to the Management team of Eamon O'Shea, James Kelly, Tommy Roche, Frank Keane, Players & all involved.

The team on the day was as follows:

John Quinn; Ronan McGuiness; Rian McNeill; Ciaran Kelly; Keith Gleeson (Capt); Brendan Hamon; Sean Joyce; Conaill Hanley; Eoin O'Neill; Mikey Kenny; Donal O'Shea; Cathal Sweeney; Eoghan Tinney. Subs: Evan Nolan, Brian Palmer, Conor Killian, Aenges Crean, Diarmuid Monroe, Niall Brennan, Rory McDonnell, Macdara Ó Gríofa, Eddie Bennett, Robert Waltzer, Cathal Murphy.

Best of luck to Minor Panelists Donal O'Shea and Cathal Sweeney who represent the club with Galway Under 16 team at a tournament in Tipperary this weekend.

 Junior Hurling:

Junior Hurlers were narrowly defeated in their Group play off vs Ballygar on Friday last. They came out on the losing end of a tense match under poor conditions in Carnmore. Final Score: 0:13 to 1-8.

The team on the night was as follows:

Stevie Cullinane; Kieran O'Connell; Tommy Roche; Diarmaid Ó hAodha; Darragh Joyce; Mikey Collins; Eamon Kelly; Eoin Finn; Sean Burke; Mike O'Donnell; Stephen Commons; Keith Gleeson; Kevin O'Connell; John Kelly; Cathal Keane. Subs: John Morrissey, Brendan Moran, Ciaran O'Dwyer, Robert Clifford, David Mannion, Matthew Keane.

This brings an end to the Junior A Championship for SK. However the lads gave it their all throughout and were unlucky, losing number of matches by the narrowest of margins. A lot has been learned, experience has been gained and SK have a relatively young panel with a bright future. The Junior's season is not over as they have 2 Junior 1 Championship matches remaining which will be played in the coming weeks.

Under 21 were scheduled to play vs Ballygar this weekend. However, this match has been postponed until further notice.

Juvenile Hurling

U13 Hurling.

The U13's played Gort in the U13 B Shield Final last Monday evening in Loughrea. Our lads put in a great performance but just couldn't stop a big 2nd half from Gort. With a number of key players away on holidays it was always going to be a tough battle for Salthill Knocknacarra.  Final score Salthill Knocknacarra 1-03 to 4-14 Gort .
