GAA Presidents Award :

Presentation of the Gradaim an Uachtaráin 2012 / 2012 President’s Awards were made at a special Croke Park banquet on 16th March one of which included Rosemount Club for their work in promotion of the Social initiative. Rosemount Club became the first to receive a new award this year. The Social Initiative was established in 2009 with Áras an Uachtaráin to help with the continued and full societal interaction of older members in our communities using the GAA Club network. Rosemount’s outstanding level of activity and organisation sees them honoured with this first time award     For those who didn’t see the TG 4 programme it can be accessed on line #   ;   http://vimeo.com/38912213
It is planned to honour this award at a function in the Stile  on 13th April

Social Exclusion and Aging in Diverse Rural Communities

Launch of the Report on “Social Exclusion and Aging in Diverse Rural Communities” which included input from Rosemount residents will take place in Rosemount Community Centre on Friday 20th April 2012 at 8.00pm.More details will follow

ACFL Div2

 Rosemount lost out to St Lomans in the park in Div2 on a score of 1-4 to 14 points. Team: Richie O'Brien, Dylan Hassett, Eamon Boland, Darren King, Paddy Keenan, Enda Boland, Shane Tone, Declan Mullen, Stepen Darcy, David Mullen, David Malynn, DD McCormack, TJ Fox, James Geoghegan, Danny Fielding.Next adult outing is in Shandona on Thursday in division6.

Our feile side lost out to Millmore Gales on Saturday by 4 points but will still feature in Feile as a host team in June.

Best of luck to the national school girls team who travel to Rathwire/Killucan tomorrow, Tuesday, to take on the home side in the semi final of Comortas na mBun Scoil.

Coffee Morning

Over €1,100 was raised for The Cancer Society at a coffee morning on St Patricks morning in te community centre.
