Seniors get back to winning ways

Edenderry suffered their first league defeat last weekend against county champions Clara but got back to winning ways on Wednesday evening with a one point win over Shamrocks in Mucklagh. This was a very tough physical game and the senior management can be very happy with the effort put in. Shamrocks opened the scoring, having two on the board before Edenderry responded with points from Robbie Glennon and Basil Malone and then a goal from Derek Kelly. Adrian Mahon then added to two great points before a Basil Malone free made it 1-5 to 0-06. Adrian Mahon then added his third point before another Basil Malone point finished Edenderry's scoring for the first half.

Half Time:
Edenderry 1-7 0-08 Shamrocks

Edenderry started the second half brightly with a good point from Daniel Nolan. Shamrocks kept the pressue on Edenderry and went point for point with them. Basil Malone added another free before Robbie Glennon pitched in with another two points. Some great play from Martin Keogh led to a Johnny Hurst point before sub John 'baby' Mason added his first. Edenderry were now five points ahead but a penalty for Shamrocks reduced the defecit to 2 points. Shamrocks scored their last point of the game soon after before Basil Malone finished Edenderry's scoring with the insurance point.

On the night Edenderry were best served by Adrian Mahon, Basil Malone, Robbie Glennon and Dan Nolan while Derek Kelly took his goal very well

Edenderry's next game is next Wednesday against Tullamore in the last round of the league. At the moment Edenderry stand a great chance of qualifying for the knockout stages.
