Lorrha GAA News for 23 July

Gym Open Times: Our fully equipped gym is open on Monday’s, Wednesday’s and Friday’s from 7.00-9.00pm.

Lotto: The numbers drawn last week were: 3 – 7 – 25 – 27. No Winner.
The Lucky Dips were: John McLeish, John O’Meara, Ann Amith, Kevin Cahalan and Thomas Cahalan. The Promoters were: Kelly’s, Louis McCormack and The Ferry Inn.

Senior: The seniors progressed to the second round of the County Championship with a comfortable 3-15 to 1-9 win over Cashel King Cormacs in Templemore on Sunday evening. Lorrha will now play one of the losing divisional semi-finalists in the next round on the August Bank Holiday Weekend.
This weekend Lorrha could have a league semi-final against Ballingarry. Check county fixtures for confirmation.

Junior: The Junior’s championship game with Kildangan was postponed on Saturday and will be refixed for this coming weekend. Check North Bord fixtures.

Minor Hurling: Lorrha suffered a 2-14 to 1-11 defeat to Roscrea in the second round of the championship in Balingarry last Thursday evening. Our next game is against Toomevara in Cloughjordan on Thursday, 28 July.

Minor Football: The Minors took on Nenagh Éire Óg in the ‘A’ Football semi-final in Borrisokane on Tuesday evening. News next week.

U16: The Under 16’s produced a much improved performance in their second game against Burgess but ended up losing 2-21 to 2-13. Lorrha took on Shannon Rovers Gaels on Monday last, news next week. Next Monday, Lorrha travel to take on Silvermines at Dolla @ 7.00pm

U14: The U14’s suffered a heavy defeat to table-toppers Borris-Ileigh in Moatfield last Wednesday. Lorrha’s final game is against Burgess in Kilcolman on Wednesday (this evening) at 7.00pm. Training every Thursday evening from 7.00 to 8.00pm

Premier 12’s: The U12’s took on Ballinhinch in the Premier 12’s Hurling quarter finals on Tuesday. News next week.
The Finals of the Premier 12’s hurling will be held in Moatfield on Saturday, 30 July. More details in the coming weeks.

Hard Luck: to Ken Hogan, Ciaran Haugh, William Maher and the Tipperary Under 21’s in the Munster semi-final against Cork last Friday evening.

Sports Hall or Function Room booking: Anyone interested in using the Function Room, Sports Hall, Gym or the Clubhouse for any event can contact Sean on 087-3643031.

Cúl Camp: The Lorrha Vhi Cul Camp got underway on Monday morning in Moatfield. Best of luck to all involved and we hope our future stars enjoy the week.

Super Camp: A Super Camp for 13-16 year olds, both boys and girls will be held in Dolla between 3-5 August. The cost of the camp is €40 but places are limited to 12 per club. Contact Louise Mannion 087-6598387.

Tipperary Draw: We are now three months into the 2011/2012 Draw and all promoters are asked to gather all outstanding monies as soon as possible.

Old Time Dancing: continues on Friday night to the music of Footloose. Dancing 9.30pm to 12.30am.

Sympathy: Lorrha GAA Club would like to sympathise with the Hoctor family on the sudden death of Jack “Jacksie” Hoctor, Cloughjordan who died last week. May he rest in peace.
