Lorrha GAA News for 23 October

U21: Theon-field year for Lorrha came to an end on Saturday afternoon when the Under21’s were beaten in the North semi-final by Kilruane MacDonaghs. Two goalsbefore half time proved crucial and despite a brave effort in the second half,could not get within striking distance. (See Match Report). Thanks to theplayers and mentors for their efforts.

 

Development: Development works in Moatfield are entering their final phase withour fine new complex set to be at the disposal of all our teams come the New Year.The fine weather has allowed almost un-impeded work, including the installationof a new sewage system which necessitated putting a pipe underneath the playingpitch across the road. However, the area which was dug up will be resurfacedand ready in time for 2011.

 

Well Done: toKen Hogan who guided Coolderry to the Offaly senior title at the weekend. Welldone also to our neighbours in Borrisokane for winning the TipperaryIntermediate title.

Well done also to Niall McIntyre who wonthe Munster U14 Cross Country athletics title at the weekend.

 

Date for your Diary: This years AGM has been fixed for Saturday, 11 December. Finalaccounts will be put together in the coming weeks so all those with outstandingfinancial issues should contact treasurer Willie Harding as soon as possible.

 

Referees Course: A referee’s course for potential new refereesin the County will be run in November.  The exact dates are 2nd/4th/9th& 11th starting at 7.30pm in Lar na bPairce in Thurles for about 2& half hours per night. All interested should contact Kevin Hough. 

 

Lotto: From NEW TIME on Monday, 1 November, the lotto draws for the wintersmonths will take place at 9pm sharp in the Clubhouse so we ask all promotersand lotto players to have their tickets deposited before 8pm. Thank you foryour continued support.

With the jackpotcurrently high, the number of players is growing by the week, particularlyonline on www.locallotto.ie where it iseasy to play every week. Tickets are €2 each or three for €5.  

 

Old Time Dancing: Old Time Dancing continues on Friday night to the music of Pat& Ritchie. Dancing 9.30pm to 12.30am.
