Lorrha GAA News for 1 August

Senior: Lorrha have been drawn with Boherlahan-Dualla in the quarter final of the Seamus O’Riain Cup. This game will take place in Dolla on this Saturday, 1 August @ 7pm. Best of Luck to the players and mentors and we hope to see a big Lorrha support there.

U21: Our North Quarter Final against Kildangan took place on Tuesday evening last and ended in an exciting draw of 1-18 to 3-12. Sean Cleary scored 13 points for Lorrha. Replay will not be for a few weeks.

Minor: Our next game is away to Newport on the Thursday, 6 August @ 7pm. We host Nenagh Éire Óg in our final group game the following Thursday, 13 August.

U16: The Under 16’s had a very good win over Moneygall in the second round of the championship last week on a scoreline of 5-19 to 3-6. They took on Borrisokane on Monday last and recorded another convincing win. They are now in a North semi-final.

U14: A busy year for the U14’s came to an end last week when Ballina defeated Lorrha in the final group game. After playing seven championship games as well as competing in the Féile, the young squad has improved though the year. Thanks to Willie Fogarty and his management team for their work throughout the year.

VHI Cul Camps: Our latest summer camp was a superb success and despite the weather, the 60+ juvenile members that took part had a superb week, capped by the visit of Tipp senior stars Shane McGrath, Seamus Callanan and our own Patrick Maher on Thursday.

Tipp Draw: Congratulations to Margaret Gleeson who won €200 in the County Board Draw last month.

Tipp v Limerick: This All Ireland semi-final takes place on Sunday, 16 August. Tickets orders can now be made to Shane Brophy 086-0515324.

Hard Luck: Commiserations to John McIntyre and his Galway team who came within minutes of setting up a semi-final with Tipperary.

Lotto: All lotto draws take place in the GAA Clubhouse on Monday night. The draw takes place at 10pm and all are welcome to attend. Thank you for your continued support.

Old Time Dancing: Old Time Dancing resumes on Friday night to the music of Pat @ Richie. Dancing 9.30pm to 12.30am.
