Lorrha GAA News for 21 April

Senior: Lorrha went down to a disappointing 1-22 to 3-10 defeat to Moycarkey/Borris in the first round of the Seamus O Riain Cup in Moneygall on Sunday. First half goals from Jamie Lewis and Eoin McIntyre (2) gave Lorrha three point lead at half time but it proved insufficient against a well-drilled Mid Tipp side.

Attention turns to the North Championship first round game against Kilruane MacDonaghs will be played on Saturday 21st April in Borrisokane at 6.30pm

Junior Hurling: The league game against Ballinahinch due to have been played last Friday was postponed because of a number of players required for the senior team and will be rescheduled.

Minor Hurling: Lorrha Rovers Gaels started their Minor 'A' Hurling campaign last Thursday against Ballina in Nenagh and recorded an impressive 2-22 to 0-17 win. Daniel O'Donoghue, James Guinan, Jack Ryan, Ollie Cleary, Colm Fogarty and Alan O'Meara lined out for Lorrha in the amalgamation. Round 2 takes place after the exams on 21st or 28th June, with Lorrha Rovers away to Toomevara.

Under 16: Lorrha Rovers Gaels hosted Ballina in a rearranged round 1 game in Moatfield last evening Tuesday, but were defeated 4-8 to 2-4. Their next game is away to Ballinahinch/Templederry in Templederry this Thursday evening at 7.00pm

Under 14: Lorrha's next game in the 'B' football championship is on Wednesday 25th April, away to Borris-Ileigh at 7.00pm.

Under 12: Lorrha secured top spot after the round robin section of the 'B' football championship following a 2-5 to 0-3 win over Burgess in Kilcolman last Friday. Lorrha will play Kiladangan or Borrisokane in the semi-final on Friday 27th April.

Lotto & Tipp Draw Meeting: An important meeting of all lotto promoters and draw workers, and Tipperary Clubs Draw promoters will take place in the Clubhouse on Wednesday 18th April at 8.30pm. Anyone who wishes to get involved in either capacity are welcome to attend also. Refreshments will be provided.
