Lorrha GAA News for 22 April

Senior: Following Tipperary's win over Wexford last Sunday, Lorrha will begin their County Championship campaign against Holycross/Ballycahill in Templederry on Sunday 30th April at 7pm

Junior: The Junior hurlers received a walkover from Ballinahinch last Saturday. Lorrha have received two walkovers from three games which isn't ideal but we are almost assured of a semi-final

Minor: Lorrha Rovers Gaels hurlers fought gamely but fell 4-15 to 4-9 in a high scoring North Minor 'A' Hurling Championship opener in Ballinderry on Good Friday.

They play Nenagh Eire Og in round 2 in Nenagh on Thursday 20th April at 6.30pm

Next Tuesday, 25th April, they play Silvermines in a vital game in the Football Championship with the winners progressing to the semi-finals. The match will be in either Moatfield or Ballinderry.

Under 16: Lorrha Rovers Gaels 'A' footballers defeated Kiladangan 1-10 to 1-7 last Monday week. On Bank Holiday Monday, they played their final group game at home to Inane Rovers but suffered a 4-16 to 2-2 defeat. However the team are already through to the semi-finals which will be played on 24th April.

Under 14: Lorrha Rovers Gaels footballers played Kiladangan in Puckane last Thursday and suffered a heavy defeat. This Thursday, 20th April, they play Portroe in Ballinderry at 6.30pm, and on Saturday, 22nd April they play Borrisokane in Borrisokane at 3pm

Under 12: Lorrha footballers were away to Borrisokane last Friday and won 2-3 to 2-2. Lorrha are through to the semi-final which will be played later this month.

Tipperary: Best of luck to Patrick Maher, Brian Hogan, John Madden, and the Tipperary senior hurlers in next Sunday's National League final against Galway.
