Lorrha GAA News for 28 February

Club Social Night: will take place in the Clubhouse on Saturday, 28th February from 9pm. On the night we will honour Patrick Maher for winning his All Star in 2014 while Tony Reddin will be presented with honourary membership of the club. Music by Pio Ryan and members of his traditional band. Entry is €10 or by showing you National Draw ticket receipt. All players, coaches and supporters are encouraged to attend to kickstart the playing year.



Lotto: There numbers drawn this week were: 3 – 9 – 14 - 15. No Winner.



Lucky Dips: Martin Hough, Tom Houlihan snr; Dympna Fogarty & Margaret O'Brien, Miriam Herbert, Eimear Moore. Promoters: Darina Kelly, Martina Houlihan and Liam Reddish.

Senior: The senior hurlers travelled to Rathcormac in East Cork last Saturday for the Tony Walsh tournament. Lorrha lost to hosts Bride Rovers in their semi-final by three points but defeat Murroe-Boher from Limerick in the Shield final.



Lorrha were drawn against Templederry in the County Senior Challenge Cup and this game will be placed on Sunday, 8th March in Moatfield at 11am



Under 21 Football: Well done to the U21's who defeated Shannon Rovers 1-5 to 0-5 in the second round of the championship on Sunday evening. It sets up a winner takes all game with Portroe next Saturday in Moatfield at 4pm with the winners progressing to the final against Moneygall/Clonakenny. Your support would be appreciated.



Under 6 & 8: Training recommences in the Sports Hall this Friday night from 7 to 8pm.



Under 10: Training will recommence on Friday, 27th February from 8-9pm in the Sports Hall.



Under 12: Training starts this Friday, 27th February in Moatfield at 7pm.



Under 14: Lorrha have joined with Shannon Rovers Gaels this year and training starts in Moatfield this Thursday, 26th February at 7.30pm.



Under 16: Lorrha have joined with Shannon Rovers in this grade and training has commenced and continues each Monday in Moatfield at 7.30pm



Membership: for 2015 is now due. Rates were also confirmed with all inclusive of Gym membership: €90 – Adult player; €50 – Minor/College student; €30 – Non-playing Adult (+€70 extra for gym membership for 12 months); €20 – Juvenile (16 and under); €90 – Family (2 adults and 2 children, capped at €100 for three or more children).



Closing date for membership for all adult and juvenile players is the last day of February to be insured in training and games while the closing date for all membership is 31st March. This date will be strictly enforced and no monies will be accepted beyond this date. It is important to remember that our total number of adult members by 31st March is the number the County Board will use towards our ticket allocations for Tipperary games so it is in your interest to have membership paid by then. Membership can be paid to club registrar Louise Mannion or can also be done online at www.myclubfinances.com



Registration Night: The club will have the second of its registration nights in Moatfield on Wednesday (this evening), 25th February from 8.00-9.30pm.



Social Dancing: continues on Friday night to the music of Muriel O'Connor. Dancing 9.30pm to 12.30am. Social Dancing classes in the clubhouse every Monday night at 8pm.



Sympathy: Lorrha GAA club would like to sympathise with former Vice President Fr Joe Kennedy on the death of his sister Eileen Corcoran, Killea. May she rest in peace.
