Lorrha GAA News for 7 February

Lotto: There was No Winner of last weeks lotto jackpot. Lucky Dips: Kenneth Cleary, Lizzy O'Hara, Teresa Dunne (Birr), Pat Kennedy (Lisduff), Marie Houlihan. Promoters: Martina Houlihan, Barry Gleeson and Liam Reddish.



Our jackpot this week is €9,450. Thank you for your continued support. You can play our lotto online at www.locallotto.ie where it is easy to play every week. Tickets are €2 each or three for €5.



Under 21 Football: The competitive season gets underway this Saturday when Lorrha host Portroe in the first round of the North U21 'B' Football Championship at 4pm. Lorrha will also face Silvermines (away) and Shannon Rovers Gaels (TBC). The top team from this section will progress to the final.



Senior: The draw for the group stages of the County Senior Hurling Championship was made on Monday evening; news next week.



Membership: for 2015 is now due. Rates were also confirmed with all inclusive of Gym membership: €90 – Adult player; €50 – Minor/College student; €30 – Non-playing Adult (+€70 extra for gym membership for 12 months); €20 – Juvenile (16 and under); €90 – Family (2 adults and 2 children, capped at €100 for three or more children).



Closing date for membership for all adult and juvenile players is the last day of February to be insured in training and games while the closing date for all membership is 31st March. This date will be strictly enforced and no monies will be accepted beyond this date. It is important to remember that our total number of adult members by 31st March is the number the County Board will use towards our ticket allocations for Tipperary games so it is in your interest to have membership paid by then.

Registration Night: The club will have the first of its registration nights in Moatfield on Wednesday, 11th February from 8.00-9.30pm.



National Draw: Lorrha GAA Club are selling tickets for GAA's National Draw. Tickets are €10 each with prizes ranging from trips to New York, All Ireland final tickets etc.



There will also be an in-club fund for those who buy their tickets for the draw. A prize fund of €500 has been set aside but if we sell 1000 or more tickets, the prize fund will rise to €1000. The in-club draw will take place as part of our Club Social on 28th February and by buying your National Draw ticket, it will gain you entry to the Social night.



Funds raised from the draw will go towards the cost of the Hurling Wall which is completed at the back of the stand and is another massive addition to the facilities at our club.



Referees Course: Tipperary County Board are looking for new referees to take part in a course in February. If anyone is interested in becoming a referee, email your contact details to referee.recruitment.tipperary@gaa.ie.



Scor: Best of luck to our young members who will be taking part in the Area Finals of North Scor na bPaisti in Templederry this Sunday afternoon.



Tipperary Club Pass: Application forms are available for the 2015 Tipperary GAA Club Pass where for a fee of €120, the pass entitles holders to entry into all adult club hurling and football championship games in the county, including divisional and county games. This great value and more information can be gotten from Shane Brophy.



Tipperary Supporters Club: Membership is now open for the 2015 Tipperary Supporters Club. Membership is €30 for adults and free for junior members. Go to www.tippsupportersclub.com



Social Dancing: continues on Friday night to the music of the Moynihan Brothers. Dancing 9.30pm to 12.30am. Social Dancing classes in the clubhouse every Monday night at 8pm.



Sympathy: Lorrha GAA Club would like to sympathise with the Lewis family on the death of Billy Lewis, Gurteen who died last week. Also to the Rushe family on the passing of Dan Rushe, Ballymcegan. May they rest in peace.
