Inter-provincial: Well done to Patrick Maher who was on the Munster team that defeated Ulster in the Railway Cup semi-final in Armagh last Sunday. Munster play Connacht in the final on 3rd March. Best of luck to Bonner and Tipperary, and new captain Shane McGrath, who begin their National League campaign on Saturday night
Fitzgibbon Cup: Best of luck to Ciaran Haugh who is on the Waterford IT team who take on Limerick IT in the quarter final of the Fitzgibbon Cup this Wednesday (today).
Senior: The seniors have their first competitive game of the year this Sunday when we travel to Portroe to take on the home side in the preliminary round of the Hogan Cup, in honour of Hubie Hogan. Throw-in is at 12pm.
Under 21: Lorrha host Ballina this Saturday at 4pm in the second round of the U21 ‘B’ Football Championship.
Under 16: Lorrha will travel to Burgess in their first game in the U16 ‘B’ Football Championship on Monday, 25th March. Lorrha also play Portroe (home), Templederry (away) and Borris-Ileigh (home).
Under 12: The U12’s will begin their Group 2 campaign on Friday, 5 April against Ballina at home. Lorrha also play Moneygall, Newport, Silvermines and Borris-Ileigh.
Easter Camp: Lorrha GAA Club will be hosting an Easter Camp between 2-4 April from 2-5pm each day. Cost of the camp is €20 and each player who completes the three days will get a sliotar and football. To register, contact juvenile secretary Louise Mannion
Gaeltacht Scholarships: Coiste Chontae Thiobraid Αrann is offering a limited number of Gaeltacht Scholarships to 2nd level students in the county. These Scholarships are limited to those students currently in 2nd, 5th and Transition Years. Applicants or their parents must have been registered members of their local GAA Club in 2012. Closing date for applications is Thursday, February 28th. Application forms are available from Shane Brophy or the Tipperary GAA website.
Membership: for 2013 is now due. All are encouraged to sign-up before the closing date of 31st March as it will count towards our Tipperary ticket allocation later in the year and will also be entered into a draw for 2 Stand Tickets to the All Ireland Hurling Final. Adult Player - €50; Non-Playing Adult - €30; Students & Minors - €20; Juveniles (16 & under) - €15; Family Membership (2 Adults & 2 Juveniles) - €80. Each additional child is €10 each. Membership is payable to Registrar Louise Mannion, Curraghagloss, or can also be paid online at myclubfinances.com.
Gym Membership: for 2013 is now available. (All rates are inclusive of club membership rates above) Adult Players - €150 (€50+€100); Non-Playing member - €150 (€30+€120); Student - €100 (€20+€80); Family (2+2) - €200 (€80+€120); Non club member - €150. Season Ticket: The Tipperary season ticket package is available. For just €200, the new 2013 Premier Gold Plus Package will give access to all adult club games within the county organised by the Tipperary county and divisional CCCs. Applications forms are available through the club and to get the best value from it, applications need to be in before the start of the National Hurling League this Saturday.
Blood Bank: The Irish Blood Transfusion Service will be holding a blood donation drive in Moatfield on Tuesday next, 26th February. Anyone which wishes to donate blood can go there on the day.
Tipperary Clubs Draw: We are asking all promoters to bring their monies up to date and forward to draw coordinator Margaret Gleeson.
Social Dancing: continues on Friday night to the music of Seamus Farrell. Dancing 9.30pm to 12.30am. Admission is €8, refreshments served.
Sympathy: Lorrha GAA Club would like to sympathise with the Slattery family, Coolbawn, on the death of Tom Slattery, former North Board Chairman who died over the weekend. May he rest in peace.
