SFL Div 2: Clonmore 3-16 V St Andrews 1-7

St. Andrews arrived with a depleted and tired side after a wedding in the club over the weekend. Clonmore took to the game early and got some quick scores on the board and held Andrews to 0-3 at half time to their 2-8. John McGrath, who was having a good game at midfield until he had to make an early exit due to injury, added the first goal. The other came from Eoin Coleman who converted the penalty which he was awarded after being fouled just inside the area.

David Mulvany scored Clonmore’s third goal just after the break to put the home side well on their way to victory. St. Andrews did not show up just to fullfill a fixture and battled hard to break down the Clonmore defence on several occasions with two goals midway through the half. Doyle and Miley at midfield with D’arcy and the two Doyles in the full forward line caused most trouble for Clonmore with the home side being well represented by Colin Doyle at full back, Shane Murphy and James Doyle on the wings, Ronan Doyle in the centre with Enda McGrath and Gavin Byrne excelling in the forwards.
