Clonmore Minors took to the field Sunday morning in a home fixture to Mount Leinster Rangers.  Rangers got off to a quick start and lead early on by 3 points to a point. The Clonmore lads then settled to the task at hand with a point each from Darren McGrath and Shane McGrath and a long range effort from Richard Bulmer which ended up in the back of the net edged Clonmore in front.  On 15 minutes Gary Byrne at full forward also found the back of the net.  Two more points from Darren McGrath and one each from Richard Bulmer and Gary Byrne sent Clonmore in at half time with a 2-06 to 0-04 lead.

The second half started with an early point from Shane McGrath.  Rangers then hit two points before the Clonmore full forward, Gary Byrne, struck again to bring his tally to 1-2.  Kevin McCarney’s hard work paid off with a point in 48 minutes, then for the second week in a row Mark Hennessy put the ball in the net from a 45.  Two late goals from Rangers, one a penalty, left the final score to Clonmore 3-09 to 2-07. Best for Clonmore: Martin Doyle, Willie Byrne, Darren McGrath, Kevin McCarney, and Gary Byrne.

 Leighlinbridge  0-7        Clonmore    1-11

Clonmore’s Intermediates started their league campaign Sunday evening away to Leighlinbridge.  The home side got off the mark first with a point after almost 5 minutes of play.  Playing with the wind it wasn’t until the 15th minute that Clonmore got their first point from the boot of wing forward Gavin Byrne, shortly after Enda McGrath followed up with two more.  A converted free from Gavin and point’s each from John McGrath, Con Murphy and Niall Humphries left the score at 0-7 to 0-1 in Clonmore’s favour at the break.

The second half started with a pointed free from Gavin Byrne and a point from Jamie Walsh who was having a great game on the wing put Clonmore eight points in front.  But the Leighlin men were not prepared to throw in the towel just yet.  They battled hard to score six points to Clonmore’s one scored by substitute, Wesley Byrne. Leighlin were given the opportunity to pull it back to one point when they were awarded a penalty but Mark Hennessy was on hand to pull off a great save.  With only minutes remaining Clonmore went down the field to score a goal converted by Niall Humphries after some quick movement by Owen Coleman and Ray O Neill.  Coleman then slotted over a point to leave the final score Clonmore 1-11 to Leighlinbridge 0-7.
