IFC Relegation Play-off: Clonmore 0-11 Naomh Eoin Myshall 1-5

The Intermediates produced their best performance of 2017, full of guts and determination, to record a well deserved win and ensure that the club avoided being relegated to Junior for the first time since 1950.

Clonmore were on fire from the start, tackling and blocking like their lives depended on it and our 0-8 to 0-1 lead at half-time didn't flatter us. Even a floodlight failure on 18 minutes couldn't upset the concentration of these lads. On 54 minutes we were leading by 0-11 to 0-4 when a Myshall goal resulted in some desperate defending in the dying minutes but the lads held out for a great win. Well done to all 20 players and mentors, John McCormack, Paul Byrne and John Byrne. It is hugely important for the club to retain our status and ironic that it was Myshall who put us down Intermediate when they beat us in the Senior Championship relegation play-off in 2005.
