Sarsfields Lotto Newsletter

Annual Table Quiz Sarsfields GAA will hold their Annual table quiz on Holy Thursday 17th April. The quiz will take place in the main hall in the club and all members are asked to support the event. On the night there will be a Raffle and spot prizes etc. Looking forward to seeing you there.

Volunteers Needed There is a Bag Pack on in Dunnes Stores on Friday 18th April. It is in Aid of Michael Garry house and if you can help out please contact Christy 087/9249884

Easter Raffle We are having an Easter Raffle in the club for a large Easter egg. Ticket are 2 euro or 3 for a fiver. You can get the tickets from behind the Bar.


Membership 2014 Club membership is now due, to enable members to be registered and it must be paid by March 31st. Also, a membership subscription must be paid by March 31st. if you want to vote at the 2014 AGM.
All players who wish to play for Sarsfields in the League and Championship must be a fully paid member. This principle applies to all, regardless of age group.
Your Club needs you. So please register before March 31st.
In simple terms this means if adult or juvenile players do not pay their membership, they are not eligible to play Gaelic games for the club. The prompt payment of membership helps Sarsfields to provide the players insurance scheme, Lighting, Pitches, dressing rooms, training equipment and much more. The club would like to thank all its 10 year members and to remind them that it has now expired and new membership can be paid as in the times above. Fundraising On Sat the 12th of April we had a clothes collection in the Club and we are continuing with it on this sat as well so you can bring along all used clothes, Shoes, Handbags etc. No bed linen or curtains please. Please support your club Thank you.

Used Football & Hurling Gear As the club Equipment officer it is my aim to raise funds whenever possible, to ease the cost on the club on buying training equipment. Over the next few weeks I will be trying to collect as much gear as possible and then sell it for a small fee on a Saturday morn at the Academy. What we need, Boots (all sizes), Helmets, any O’Neills gear, Jerseys, Hoddies etc. Any Monies made from this will be used to buy training gear for the club. I will start to collect on Saturday morn coming 29th Mar, so if you are attending the Academy or you can call in with some used gear please leave it in the shop. Dermot Earley Academy Our underage Academy has recommenced on Saturday mornings for all children between the ages of 5 and 11. Sarsfields have a very successful underage structure and this is due to the hard work and commitment of our underage coaches. As always, at the start of every year we welcome all our new members in to the Academy and we look forward to seeing you. For further Info Contact Mick Byrne (086/8375719) our Academy Co-Ordinator.

Football (This is for W/Ending 13th March) Seniors played at home to The Larries and had a good win. They now play on sat 19th away to JTB. Throw in at 18.30. The U/16 will play in the Lge semi final v Moorefield on fri 18th , and our U/14 will play in thye Feile Shield Final v naas. (See Fixtures) Junior B team had a good win over Allenwood. The club wishes a speedy recovery to Cian Chilly Byrne as he suffered a Fracture to his shoulder over the weekend playing with the minors.

Hurling Our senior hurlers had a good win in their opening game v Naas on a scoreline of 1-17 to 2-08. The last 15 min Sarsfields came back strong from been 4 points down to win by 6. They will now play a challange next Thur 17th against St. Marks of Tallagh.

Ladies Football Our Senior Ladies had a good win over Monasterevin last Tue 8th. They are now top of the Lge Table with 3 wins out of 3. Our U/12 Girls had a good win over Kilcullen.

Cumann Na Sáirseálach On Saturday 1st March the club launched its new fund raising Initiative which is known as Cumann na Sáirsealach All the info on this can be found on the web site www.sarsfieldsgaanewbridge.ie If you are interested in joining this and supporting the club you can contact Vice Chairman John Maher (087/6371285). This is a great opportunity to support your club and help us to develop it more for the future.

Gym Fobs Anyone who had already paid membership and for the Gym Fobs you can now collect them off Christy Horan (087/9249884).

Gym Opening hours Mon – Fri 9am to 9.30pm. Sat 9am – 6pm. Sun 12 noon – 6pm

Social Committe The Club are looking to form a Social Committee which will involve the organizing and running of events within the club. For further Info you can contact Shea McGann 087/2039726

Function Rooms There are 3 Function Rooms available in the club which can cater for big and small Functions, Weddings, Christenings, Birthdays, Funerals, etc. Enquiries to Shirley (086/8568830)

The Club Shop The shop is well stocked out with all types of gear both casual and Training, we also have a large stock of Gum Shields for the upcoming season for €5 each. The Shop opens every Sat morning from 11am to 1pm or you can contact Angie Byrne on 086/0762710.

Club Lotto The club would like to thank all those who support the Lotto and would like to encourage all its members to participate in the weekly Lotto draw. This can now be done by going on to the Sarsfields web site and clicking on the (play lotto now) link, then follow the step by step instructions.
