Athlone Town Club Notes 10/12/12 On January 5th 2013 Athlone Institute of Technology and Athlone Town FC will host Soccer Scholarship Trials at the AIT campus for students who wish to commence study at AIT next September. U19 League: Athlone Town 4-1 Galway United ST Athlone Town moved four points clear on top of the Airtricity U19 League after an emphatic first half performance left Galway United with no way back and no answers to an Athlone side growing in confidence with each and every match. The game, under the floodlights of the Astroturf facility in Lecarrow, was watched closely by new Athlone Town Manager Roddy Collins, who will have been impressed by the performance of the side on Monday night.

Athlone Town FC Weekly Club News Update Athlone Town’s U19s continued their perfect start to the National U19 league with a 3-1 home win over Wexford Youths at Athlone Town stadium last Sunday. After an impressive, high scoring victory over Limerick under floodlights last Tuesday night the players continued where they left off against Limerick, storming into a 3-0 by half time.

Athlone named European Town of Sport 2013 All at Athlone Town FC are delighted to share the news that Athlone has been named European Town of Sport for 2013 at a function in the Wineport Lodge, Athlone tonight. The announcement comes at the end of a two day visit by a European delegation during which the merits of Athlone as a vibrant sporting town were presented.
